FAQs
Are you accepting new clients?
I am currently accepting new clients both in-person and online. As long as you live in the state of CA, I am happy to provide a phone consultation to determine the best course of treatment. Book your complementary, 15-minute phone call today.
Can I use my insurance at Align?
I am not an in-network provider and will not be able to bill your insurance directly for you. However, I do provide regular superbill statements which you can use to pursue reimbursement from your provider. Many insurance companies will cover a portion of your therapy fees after the fact, but this will depend on your particular plan, provider, and deductible. Call your insurance company for further information and peace of mind before getting started.
How much does each session cost?
The standard fee for a typical 50-minute session with Dr. Brown is $225. Extended, 75-minute sessions are $335, which are available for those who need or desire extra time to process. While there may be some limited sliding scale availability, these spaces are reserved for long-term, weekly therapy clients and are determined based on need. Inquire today if you would like to discuss options.
Resiliency-Building Bootcamps typically run for 2.5 hours and begin at $450, but cost is subject to change based on the size and nature of the group and the agreed-upon length of session time.
All fees are assessed annually.
You are entitled to know your exact session costs upfront so that you can estimate according to your budget.
How “long-term” is long-term therapy?
This is a phrase that describes a therapy process without time limitations. You may find that a few months of processing helps you achieve your therapy goals, while others prefer the ongoing consistency of weekly therapy for longer than that. The main distinction between long and short-term therapy is that the latter explores more focused issues, potentially implementing more targeted, skills-based treatment, in a time-limited way. Long-term therapy is more open-ended, allowing space to dig deeper into core issues as they play out over time. Your specific needs can be discussed and determined in the intake session.
