If life has been feeling unmanageable lately, it could be time to start a new chapter in your story. Underlying stress presents itself in many different ways, and sometimes, the body knows something is off before the mind catches up. Whether you’re battling with a depressed mood, anxious symptoms, physical tension/pain, or trying to understand compulsive patterns, I can help you make sense of your experience and disentangle the internal knots. I love to work collaboratively with clients, and I welcome you to be in conversation with me about what feels most helpful to you.

Stress wreaks havoc on your mind and body, making it difficult to feel in control of your own life. Whether you’ve experienced a singular, painful incident, or you’ve come from a complex background of stress, these experiences can alter how present and regulated you are able to be. Sometimes, we even get stuck in obsessive thought loops and then develop compulsive patterns to ease the anxiety they bring. However you experience stress, the events of the past can impact the version of you that shows up to each day, as well as the future life you will lead. I can help you rebuild the narrative in such a way that casts a more hopeful light on your future chapters.

When life becomes confusing or overwhelming, people often gravitate toward the coping mechanisms that “work” for them. However, overusing these methods can sometimes stop being helpful and start creating chaos instead. For some people, there may not be one singular behavior pattern, but rather, a few that interact. Whether you reach for substances, your credit card, comfort food, your phone, or other behaviors in times of stress or boredom, the underlying emotions and beliefs must be explored to create change. If you’re curious about the originating reasons for certain things you do, individual therapy can be an essential step to understanding yourself better. Together, we can build a plan that will empower you to build the life you want according to your goals.

We all live in relation to other people, and all relationships encounter conflict. The internal impact of relational stress can range from mild discomfort, all the way to full-blown panic attack. Wherever you feel your relational experiences fall on this spectrum, I can help you create more internal freedom. For some folks, health might mean disentangling from certain people or dynamics. But for others, the task is learning to draw near safely. Whichever end of the spectrum you feel you’re starting from, there is a path forward to balanced connection with safe emotional and sexual intimacy.
People from all walks of life may struggle with various aspects of their sexuality and sexual functioning. Sexual wellness is seated in a complex interaction of emotional, physical, and relational dynamics. As such, fostering a confident and healthy relationship with yourself as a sexual person can be complicated, but possible. Therapeutic assistance can be helpful in defining and enacting your sexuality in such a way that you are able to enjoy and feel empowered by. -
Trauma-focused therapy can help your brain metabolize painful and stressful experiences to forge a more comfortable path forward. As a trauma and anxiety specialist, I engage all clients in therapy that is trauma-informed, aimed at nervous system regulation, and resilience-building. If you sometimes struggle with bouncing back after something throws you off balance emotionally, you might benefit from a skills-based approach to deepen your inner well of strength.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-informed therapy specifically designed to decrease physical and emotional distress around moments from the past. The process entails building awareness of the body, processing emotion, and challenging unhelpful beliefs that have taken root after adverse experiences. As an EMDR therapist, I can assist you in reprocessing traumatic events in such a way that can lead to more rest in your body and mind. This treatment is a workout—it trains your nervous system how to regulate itself when activated.

Healing doesn’t happen through insight alone—sometimes it happens through the body. Whether we realize it or not, our bodies carry an imprint of what we’ve lived through, impacting how our nervous systems operate. By building awareness around physical sensations and emotional triggers, we can heal and regulate on a deeper level. Have you ever noticed that a certain tone of voice makes your stomach drop? Or that your body tenses before your mind even understands why? These are examples of your body’s learned responses to stress, leading to physical and emotional experiences of anxiety. Together, we can explore body-based approaches to help move your nervous system out of survival and into greater regulation, flexibility, and connection.
